MAD, otherwise known as Make A Difference, is a youth volunteer organisation in India. It provides English skills courses to thousands of children in orphanages, street shelters and poor homes. Make A Difference has won numerous international awards for its work, and in December 2010 was visited by First Lady Michelle Obama. From 2010, Make A Difference started using Andrew Littlejohn's Cambridge English for Schools throughout its centres. The classes take learners from complete beginner to intermediate level, over a number of years. Cambridge University Press supports the project by providing the books with a very, very deep discount. Andrew Littlejohn provides ongoing support to Make A Difference through regular visits to India, training sessions, test production, materials support and curriculum consultancy.
